Cyclist Chiara Pierobon Italian Dies at 22

ITALIAN: Tragedia nel mondo del ciclismo. Chiara Pierobon, 22 anni, è morta all’ospedale di Ingolstadt dove era stata ricoverata dopo un malore che l’aveva colpita mentre era in viaggio per partecipare ad una prova di Coppa del Mondo.
Nel comunicato della società ciclistica Fassa Bortolo, si fa riferimento a una possibile embolia polmonare come causa del decesso.

ENGLISH: Tragedy in the world of cycling. Chiara Pierobon, only 22, dies in the Ingolstadt Hospital where she was hospitalized after an illness that had struck her that had struck her while she was traveling to attend a test of the World Cup.

The Fassa Bortolo Cycling Society told the press that the cause of her dead was a possible pulmonary embolism.

  1. Very sad news mom. She was a very nice human being and a terrific cyclist with a life full of promises and hope. RIP

    • Did you meet her, Dr. Castro P. ? If so, I am sorry for your loss.


      • Yes, CF, my family and I met her when we went to Italy last year. She was such a nice down to earth person and willing to share her experience in professional cycling with me. She had a great future in cycling. Thank you for you condolences.

    Damn. That is sad. Pulmonary embolism is not something that will show up until it hits you. By then it is too late.
