Belkov Katusha Gana etapa 9 Nibali retine Maglia Rosa

El ciclista Ruso, Maxim Belkov del Katusha, gana arrasadoramente la etapa 9na del día de hoy del Giro de Italia! Vincenzo Níbali retiene la Maglia Rosa y Cadel Evans su honroso 2do. lugar en la general. El único cambio que tenemos es que Hesdejal salio de los primeros 10 lugares. Es una lástima porque Hesdejal es un buen ciclista, pero las exigencias del Giro son siempre supremas e imprevistas y no cualquiera las resiste.

Compañerismo Ciclista Estadounidense Chris Horner

Algo positivo para  recordar el día de hoy: existe gente magnífica en este mundo, como ejemplo a dar está el ciclista Estadounidense Chris Horner, quien en el 2008 ayuda a otro ciclista a llegar a la meta cargándolo en su bici.

Después de caerse tras accidente, Billy Demong queda lastimado igual que su bicicleta, y faltando 2 kilómetros para llegar al final del camino, Chris Horner se detiene y lo carga a él y a su bici. Gran ejemplo de compañerismo y clase ciclista!

Christopher Froome Gana Etapa Tour de Oman Leads

SPANISH: “El objetivo era controlar a Contador y pegarme a él. Era importante coger la bonificación y no podía dejar que me ganara el español, quien ha hecho que se disputara la etapa hasta el último centímetro”, explicó Froome.

“Ha sido una etapa mucho más dura de lo que esperaba. Han atacado con bala, sin tregua. En la segunda subida Contador encendió la mecha y pilló a todos por sorpresa. Y en la tercera se fue Contador y Purito y yo colaboramos para alcanzarle”, dijo.

“Creo que a ellos les sorprendió el viento. Me coloqué de forma que si me querían adelantar debían pasar por donde más les molestaba”, señaló.

Fabian Cancellara Wins Today’s Tour de France Prologue

For a moment Chavanel took control of the ITT. Tony Martin got a flat (very disappointing), and Wiggo was a speed machine but nothing compared to Fabian Cancellara, who crown himself with a wonderful performance, like always.

Cancellara beats Wiggins by seven seconds and takes the yellow jersey this evening.

Britain Cyclist Bradley Wiggins Wins Criterium du Dauphine 2012

Britain’s Team Sky rider Bradley Wiggins won the Criterium du Dauphine for the second year running here Sunday,
as Spain’s Daniel Moreno won the seventh and final stage.

Evans was third overall, 1min 26sec adrift of Wiggins.

After paying tribute to his teammates, Wiggins said he was reassured to have defended his title.

“I think it’s always harder to do it a second time,” he admitted.

“Last year I didn’t come into the race as the favorite so to do that this year and know from day one, from being second in the prologue, that I was one of the favorites, it’s a better and harder way to win.

“Obviously we’ve had a few goes at it now so I think we’re getting better at it if anything. It’s probably gone better than the other races have gone this season, it’s been a lot smoother.”

Evans, a four-time runner-up, had lost most of his time to Wiggins in Thursday’s 53.5 km time trial, leaving the Australian with no choice but to attack in the remaining stages in a bid to close the gap.

“I came here to try and win, but I was beaten by a better team and a better guy,” admitted Evans.

“It was a week of hard racing and a good bit of training toward July and hopefully my big form of the year so far.”
