Lance Armstrong Banned From Racing Ironman and Thriatlon Events

Lance Armstrong is in big trouble again with doping charges over him threatening to take his 7 Tour de France titles away from him. But this time -doping charges are more serious because the USADA accuses him of promoting the use of many drugs that should only be used by doctors for patients in medical need of them, like steroids (many kinds), blood booster EPO, blood transfusions, human growth hormone (HGH) and others.

I have been an admirer of Lance’s for long time, and I don´t want to bashing either, but these “rumors” have been around for too long already, about 16 to 17 years and now I really wonder how much involvement Mr. Armstrong has in these charges. The worst thing of all is the promoting the use of drugs accusation. He knows the truth, the real truth.

I know that Lance has never tested positive, so the laboratory reports say, but we know that when millions of Euros or US dollars are involved in a cover up, everything negative could be easily erased in some corrupt companies and agencies. But who knows, really who cares by now, not me, certainly,  not anymore, and this is it for me:  no more Lance Armstrong. There are other cyclists that deserve our attention and praise to be wasting it on Lance.

Many people could be sadly affected if the LIVESTRONG Foundation gets hurt financially, but there are many others in the US and around the world that could and can continue the great work of supporting cancer research, I am sure of that.

The World Triathlon Corporation’s board of directors decided to keep a rule that prevents seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong from competing in Ironman events, ESPN.com reported Saturday.

The rule states that athletes “under investigation” for alleged doping offenses cannot participate in WTC-sanctioned triathlons.

Therefore, Armstrong will not be allowed to compete at a June 24 Ironman event in France. It may also prevent him from qualifying for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii this fall.

The ban came Wednesday after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency told Armstrong that it intends to file charges against him that could result in him losing his Tour de France titles. The charges are not based on positive drug tests, but witness testimony and other evidence going back to the mid-1990s.

“There were 815 athletes who agreed to the rule that is currently standing, and there’s no ambiguity about it,” WTC CEO Andrew Messick told ESPN.com Saturday. “Even if it has unintended consequences, (rescinding) it isn’t the right thing to do for the integrity of the sport.”

Some competitors do not like the rule. Among them is four-time Ironman event winner Jordan Rapp, who wrote in an e-mail to ESPN.com that he disagrees with it.

Superheroes And The Giro d’Italia 2012

I love superheroes, they are stronger than the average human and have a special ability such as being able to fly, change shape, throw fire or create storms, and on it goes. They also get to wear cool costumes and of course their bodies look perfect with muscles and waistlines to envy. In everyday life, for the most part, they can function with the appearance of an everyday person (of course there are always exceptions!) and not be bothered by people who want a favor.

Cycling Gadget For The Passionate Cyclist

This is one cool gadget we could all use. What cyclist hasn´t ever been in the predicament of having to carry the bicycle up and down stairs? I have and still do sometimes, and it can be very hard and awkward. But designer Samantha Del Rosario has found the solution: a lift-strap for your bike.

This device is made of fabric and some elastic that attaches to your bicycle, then you sling it over your shoulder and carry it up or down stairs which it makes it a lot easier and practical.

Lance Armstrong Ironman Ignores Daughter

DAD, DAD, DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!

A screaming multitud, the guy was exhausted and disappointed. I admire Lance as the great professional cyclist he once was, do not want to come across like a Lance defender in all aspects, but come on give the athlete a break, he must have been absolutely tired.

Cycling Vuelta Mexico Telmex 2012

The Vuelta a México Telmex 2012 started today at the beautiful Mexican port of Acapulco, under an intense heat, the 150 cyclists put all their effort to win and finish the 82.4 kilometers race.
It was Hector Fabián Aguilar the winner of today´s first stage.

FINAL RESULTS AFTER STAGE 1

1.- Héctor Fabián Aguilar (URU)

2.- José Antogna (ARG)
3.- Arnold Alcolea (CUB)

Giant To Offer Carbon Anthem X 29er And Reign – BikeRadar

HADLEIGH, ENGLAND - JULY 31: Catharine Pendrel...

When it comes to predicting what new models Giant Bicycles are working on, the Taiwanese company’s development history is telling. Each year their main focus flip-flops between road and mountain, and they always build new models in their Aluxx alloy first, before cutting molds and engineering layups for their ‘halo’ Advanced composite models.

Given that Giant focused on the road last year, we expect new mountain bikes to feature heavily in their 2013 product launches. And it would be a brave man who bets against some of their key alloy models being newly rendered in carbon fiber. We expect to see Advanced and Advanced SL level versions of the Anthem X 29′er, along with a composite version of the 26in-wheeled Reign, designed to take on Santa Cruz’s Nomad Carbon, Specialized’s carbon Enduro and Trek’s Remedy in the growing ‘enduro’ trail market.

Anthem X Advanced 29′er: Lighter, stiffer and better riding, in standard and SL variants

In the past few years 29ers have taken over the US mountain bike market, with big-wheelers now accounting for 80 percent of some shops’ off-road sales, according to trade publication Bicycle Retailer and Industry News. Giant were slow to join the 29er fray but they’ve made up for lost time with the likes of the XtC Composite 29′er hardtail and the full-suspension Anthem X 29′er. The stage is now set for Giant to ‘Advance’ their 29in mountain bike range.

The Anthem X 29′er’s features and geometry have been proven in alloy form, and riders are clearly calling for 29in wheels with the loudest voices they have – their wallets – so we’d bet that Advanced and Advanced SL level carbon bikes are on their way for 2013. We expect both bikes to sport Giant’s whole host of design features, including their OverDrive 2 tapered steerer and head tube (1¼ to 1½in, rather than the more normal 1⅛ to 1½in) and MegaDrive down tube.

MTB Cycling with Prosthetic Arm

A long time friend of this blog who is someone I admire for his very intelligent comments and what he has shared about his life, sent me this super epic video that has to be blogged about.
This video tells us that nothing is impossible in this life, and if you really want to do something that seems hard or “impossible”, but if you really really want it, nothing can stop you from doing it, NOTHING!

I’ve tried to find out why the trails are so unnaturally hideous and yet so naturally beautiful. Some people say it is because of the terrain, some say the weather, some say because of the bikes, some say because of the history of the sport here, but Will Craig gave the most honest answer to this. “We want the trails to be hard. I want risk, I want challenge.”
